Break Loose
Walk Away from Life's Problems
The world has become a crazy, hectic place hasn't it? We are all struggling to make ends meet (except for the ONE PERCENT I guess). I want to live my life to the fullest and I don't want to be obligated to work for someone else the rest of my life. Give me the open road and a star to sail her by. Or give me liberty. Or a bank account with a bottomless balance. What I mean is that I want to free to do what I want to do. I'd like to hold down a job but I want it to be a job I enjoy doing, not something I have to take on because I have bills to pay.
My dream is to find a way to live life peacefully both inside and outside the world. To live inside the world means you do your daily thing: your job, your life, etc. To live outside the world means you find a secret place to retreat to. It could be a local walking park, a state park, a movie theater, etc. Your secret place is where life's problems don't follow you. You can take your mind off your worries and just relax.
The less money I spend on my secret place the better. But let's be honest here: it costs more money to find a more private retreat. If I go see my favorite movie the theater is likely to be full. If I want to go hiking alone in the woods I'll have to drive farther to find a place that fewer people visit.
This is why I like my job. I don't have to work in one of those awful "open space" environments where no one has any privacy. I sit in an old-fashioned cubicle. I don't know why my company still has them but I am glad they do. The cubies muffle a lot of noise and you can take a break after completing a task without feeling guilty.
Mental "down" time is important, especially when you use your brain a lot to calculate things or solve problems. Did you know the brain uses about 40% of the body's energy? It's no wonder we feel so tired after a long meeting or argument. We're burning too much energy. We need time to rest and recuperate.
That is really what this Website is all about: finding something to take your mind off of the daily grind. This is a place where you can just "vege" and forget about life a while. I hope it helps you.
